Thanks to our student volunteers, Adi, Amanda S, Anya, Ara, Emily, Emmy, Eliza, Elliot, Ezra, Jenny, Graycen, Kate, Maddie, Payson, and Rebecca for getting to know our cats and then writing these paw-some profiles. You will notice that our cats range from about 1 year old to 14 years old. We don’t take in cats under 8 months old, but if you’re looking to adopt a kitten we suggest checking out rescue partners PALS Animal Lifesavers and PAWS Wakefield. OUR CURRENT CATS

  • A black and white cat with green eyes lying on a dark surface, looking directly at the camera.

    Monty

“Don’t stop loving me. Can we play now? Are we there yet? I’m ready for a snack.”  We think those are just some of the thoughts that go through Monty’s head in the course of a minute. This high-energy two year old boy was rescued as a stray by PALS before coming to the cafe. Unfortunately, he had lost a lot of fur patches, the likely cause being stress. ’ With the help of the cafe, he has flourished into quite the snuggly, playful cat that he is inside! His favorite activities include playing with the mouse wand toy and coming a table to get extra pets and love. Sam is pretty bonded with Monty (they groom each other and hang in boxes together), so we prefer they get adopted as a pair. Monty and Sam have an approved adopter and are being adopted together later this summer!

  • A gray and white cat sitting on a wooden floor near a doorframe.

    Sam

Talk about 2 degrees of kitty separation! 3 year old Sam happens to be both the sister of Maisy (adopted two years ago) and the mother of Persephone (currently here at the cafe). She was rescued 8 months ago by PALS along with Jack, Persephone, and Freya. She’s a bit shy right now, but she loves taking a peek at the other cats and getting pets (while eating Churu!). She has just started playing with wands and ping pong balls, especially in the evenings. Sam is pretty bonded with Monty (they groom each other and hang in boxes together), so they will need to be adopted as a pair. Monty and Sam have an approved adopter and are being adopted together later this summer!

    Max

Max is a 10 year old Siamese that was brought to us through a joint rescue effort between PAWS and PALS after his owner could no longer care for him. He is super friendly and has even shown an affinity for laps. We believe that Max is really short for “Maximum Love!” Max has kidney issues and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and we’re working with vets to stabilize his condition and help him gain weight back.  His current position as Walmart greeter means he is often the first one you will meet at the cafe.  Currently, proceeds from yoga classes, sound baths, and tarot nights go towards his medical care.

  • Amber

Lap Cat Alert! The picture says it all! Meet 1 year old cuddly and adventurous Princess Amber. Amber was rescued as a stray by PALS and has already been a momma. Amber is pretty social and playful. She was not a huge fan of other cats, so we gave her her own room where she can be a solo princess and get all the love and attention to herself. Try to boop her nose when you're at the cafe. She is so so cute!

  • Gelato

Buongiorno! Meet Gelato. (aka Predazzo) Gelato is a 2 year old bundle of fluff and sweetness who was rescued as a stray by PAWS. He loves pets, making biscuits, and lots of attention. In his short time here, he’s even claimed a few laps! He loves to pass the yellow fluff ball. He loves all treats, no favs here. He always eats treats from people nice and politely. Gelato loves to just vibe and play with you.

  • Beanie & Sal

One-year-old Sal and two-year-old Beanie are a bonded pair of kitties that were surrendered to PAWS. Beanie (the calico one) is very friendly, active, and attention-seeking, eager to meet new people or cats. She’s super vocal and doesn’t like to be left alone for too long. Beanie adores human company, constantly rubbing up against visitors’ legs and asking for pets! Sal (the black one) is a bit more timid and reserved, and will take a bit more time to warm up to people. Nevertheless, Sal still seeks out attention and love as much as Beanie. He can get a bit overstimulated with too much love and prefers light pets; he might even sit right next to you, his soulful eyes asking for more! Sal and Beanie both enjoy pouncing on wand toys or fooling around with the cat tube in the quarantine room. They can be often found sleeping together, grooming each other, and wrestling with each other. This bonded pair have a lot of love to give to their future home, and want all of the love their family is able to give them. Sal and Beanie have an approved adopter and will be going to their fur-ever home in a few weeks!

  • Courtney

Courtney is a sweet and shy 1.5 year old girl who was rescued by PAWS Wakefield after being found pregnant in a window grate in Lynn before the January blizzards. It’s taken her a while to get comfortable around humans but she made great strides in her foster home before arriving at the cafe. She can most likely be found hiding behind the couch in the back room of the cafe, but she will accept and lean into light face rubs and scratches from a gentle hand. When she gets comfortable enough, Courtney will stretch out her legs + paws and show you her fluffy belly, her soulful eyes begging for more love!

  • Kerry

Kerry is a shy one year old girl who was rescued by PAWS from an overcrowded home situation. She’s taking a while to open up, but has streaks of mischief (like tearing up paper towel rolls!). She often can be found sitting high up, in a corner, with her big beautiful eyes watching over us. She is not scared of heights! Sometimes she has the zoomies and you might see an orange blur run past you. She is shy but she usually accepts treats and sometimes likes to play. The people who adopt this cat gymnast are very lucky!

  • Mr. Darcy

This sweet 4 year old comes to us from PALS. He is a dapper and reserved gentleman just like his namesake from Pride and Prejudice. Although he shows some favorable prejudice toward guests who offer head pets and churros, so far he is hesitant on showing his pride. However, we are certain that once he finds his own version of Elizabeth Bennet, he will be filled with confidence. Even if you’re not a Jane Austen fan, spend time coyly blinking at this sweet fellow and you’ll want to take him home.
