Thanks to our student volunteers, Adi, Amanda S, Anya, Ara, Emily, Emmy, Eliza, Elliot, Ezra, Kate, Maddie, Payson, and Rebecca for getting to know our cats and then writing these paw-some profiles. You will notice that our cats range from about 1 year old to 14 years old. We don’t take in cats under 8 months old, but if you’re looking to adopt a kitten we suggest checking out rescue partners PALS Animal Lifesavers and PAWS Wakefield. OUR CURRENT CATS

  • Close-up of a Siamese cat resting its head on a gray cushioned surface, with a neutral background.

    Max

Max is a 9 year old Siamese that was brought to us through a joint rescue effort between PAWS and PALS after his owner could no longer care for him. He is super friendly and has even shown an affinity for laps. We believe that Max is really short for “Maximum Love!” Max has kidney issues and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and we’re working with vets to stabilize his condition and help him gain weight back.  His current position as Walmart greeter means he is often the first one you will meet at the cafe.

  • A tabby cat with green eyes lying on a black mesh office chair.

    Milo

Aren’t Milo’s eyes mesmerizing?  Milo is a 7 year old who was surrendered to PALS when his family moved. Although he is often hiding during guest hours, he is super friendly and lovable when feeling brave and will probably follow you around everywhere you go.  He loves to play and has quite the jump for a chonky cat. Milo is a shedding machine, but loves being brushed all over!

  • Black cat with yellow-green eyes lying on a soft surface, looking at the camera inside a wooden or cardboard enclosure.

    Jack

Meet Freya’s dad, a shy two year old who was rescued as a stray by PALS. Over time, Jack has really come out of his shell, allowing humans to give him some gentle pats. He loves nothing more than to snooze atop the cat tree, occasionally tilting his head to watch other cats (and people) go about their day. Jack can sometimes get a bit overstimulated with too much love, but really enjoys just being in the company of humans, sitting near them and observing the cafe happenings. Jack has FIV, which can only be transferred to another cat through a deep bite, usually in the wild, and can live a normal life given good nutrition and routine vet care.

  • A black and white cat with green eyes lying on a dark surface, looking directly at the camera.

    Monty

“Don’t stop loving me. Can we play now? Are we there yet? I’m ready for a snack.”  We think those are just some of the thoughts that go through Monty’s head in the course of a minute. This high-energy two year old boy was rescued as a stray by PALS before coming to the cafe. Unfortunately, he had lost a lot of fur patches, the likely cause being stress. With the help of the cafe, he has flourished into quite the snuggly, playful cat that he is inside! His favorite activities include hoarsing around with a turtle wand toy and wrestling with his buddy Kermit. Through the efforts of the cafe, we are working to help Monty build his courage and find him the right diet so he can be a model for the Fur Regrowth Club for Men.

    Ginny and Lady

Meet Lady and Ginny, a beautiful, deeply bonded pair of 8-yr-old tortoiseshell soul sisters from the Odd Cat Sanctuary. They may not be related by blood, but they most definitely are in spirit. Since they resemble each other quite a bit, they might be hard to tell apart. Lady’s face is of narrower size and her fur is more red in color, while Ginny’s face is rounder and her fur is darker in comparison. They are the yin to the other’s yang, Lady being more social and brave, and Ginny being more reserved and timid. Lady is FIV+, but will be able to live a long life with the right nutrition and regular vet care. Lady can live with other cats, as we now know that FIV+ can only be transmitted through a deep bite, typically in wild outdoor settings. Despite their differences, the two are both affectionate and seek physical love from each other or humans. Lady and Ginny share an unbreakable bond that is conveyed through their eating from the same plate, following each other around the room, or (quite literally) stacking atop each other in their special space. Lady and Ginny truly demonstrate friendship and certainly have a lot of love to give to their future home. Lady and Ginny have an approved adopter and will be going to their fur-ever home in a few weeks!

  • A cream-colored cat with orange markings and blue eyes lying in a woven basket on a tiled floor, looking up at the camera.

    Lord Briar

Do you see a huge pair of eyes staring at you from behind the couch? A monster? No, it’s just Lord Briar, a beautiful 6 yr-old flame point siamese. This adorable boy was surrendered to the Odd Cat Sanctuary after coming from a tough home life. He started out shy and prefering to hide behind the couch, but has started getting braver and even climbed on a few laps. Lord Briar will accept head pats, brushing, and might even eat treats from your hand with a little encouragement. When you touch him, you’ll notice his indescribably soft fur! Lord Briar has serious Irritable Bowel Disorder which can be managed with the right dietary restrictions and vet care.

  • A black cat wearing a colorful rocket ship patterned bow tie sitting next to a beige scratching post and a wooden platform.

    Orion

When you glance at Orion’s orb-like golden eyes and sleek, jet-black fur, it makes you feel as if you’ve fallen into a black hole! This social 1 year old came to us as a stray from PALS and has melted us already with his sweetness. A little ball of energy, Orion can frequently be seen zooming around the cafe and roughhousing playfully with the other cats. Orion is a true explorer, willing himself to investigate other cats, humans, or the occasional overturned cardboard box. Orion can also sometimes be seen rocking his dapper outer space bowtie!

  • Maggie & Millie

Meet one-yr-old Maggie and Millie! These adorably cute sisters were adopted from Texas as kittens before being surrendered to PAWS after their owners could no longer care for them. Being nearly identical, you might wonder who’s who at first! Millie is shorthaired with a black dot on her chin while Maggie is fluffier with a white spot instead. Millie craves your love, consistently meowing and rubbing against your legs, hoping for pets. When she’s not doing this, you can find her snoozing in her cat tree. Compared to her sister, Maggie is more shy and reserved, and it might take a bit for her to warm up to you. Once she does, however, you will notice her fur is as soft as silk! Both of these sisters are very vocal, soft and sweet, and want all the love their new family is able to give them. Maggie and Millie have an approved adopter and will be going to their new homes in a few weeks.

  • Coco

This adorable 1 year old was rescued as a stray by PALS after having been a mama herself. She is full of kitten-like energy, always asking for playtime and perking up when she sees visitors. We can’t wait to see her purr-sonality develop further as she makes more friends at the cafe.
