Thanks to our student volunteers, Adi, Amanda S, Anya, Ara, Emily, Emmy, Eliza, Elliot, Ezra, Jenny, Graycen, Kate, Maddie, Payson, and Rebecca for getting to know our cats and then writing these paw-some profiles. You will notice that our cats range from about 1 year old to 14 years old. We don’t take in cats under 8 months old, but if you’re looking to adopt a kitten we suggest checking out rescue partners PALS Animal Lifesavers and PAWS Wakefield. OUR CURRENT CATS
-

Max
Max is a 9 year old Siamese that was brought to us through a joint rescue effort between PAWS and PALS after his owner could no longer care for him. He is super friendly and has even shown an affinity for laps. We believe that Max is really short for “Maximum Love!” Max has kidney issues and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and we’re working with vets to stabilize his condition and help him gain weight back. His current position as Walmart greeter means he is often the first one you will meet at the cafe. Currently, proceeds from yoga classes and tarot nights go towards his medical care.

Monty
“Don’t stop loving me. Can we play now? Are we there yet? I’m ready for a snack.” We think those are just some of the thoughts that go through Monty’s head in the course of a minute. This high-energy two year old boy was rescued as a stray by PALS before coming to the cafe. Unfortunately, he had lost a lot of fur patches, the likely cause being stress. ’ With the help of the cafe, he has flourished into quite the snuggly, playful cat that he is inside! His favorite activities include playing with the mouse wand toy and coming a table to get extra pets and love. Sam is pretty bonded with Monty (they groom each other and hang in boxes together), so we prefer they get adopted as a pair.
-

Sam
Talk about 2 degrees of kitty separation! 3 year old Sam happens to be both the sister of Maisy (adopted two years ago) and the mother of Persephone (currently here at the cafe). She was rescued 8 months ago by PALS along with Jack, Persephone, and Freya. She’s a bit shy right now, but she loves taking a peek at the other cats and getting pets (while eating Churu!). She has just started playing with wands and ping pong balls, especially in the evenings. Sam is pretty bonded with Monty (they groom each other and hang in boxes together), so they will need to be adopted as a pair.

Chester (aka Chess)
Meet Chester, an adorable 1-year-old bundle of love! This fluffy tuxedo was rescued as a stray by PAWS Wakefield, in the same area that Bobbi, a fellow cat at the cafe, used to live. This shy boy prefers to rest inside of his comfy bin in the vestibule, snoozing away the hours. He can be quite shy and jumpy, so he can take some time warming up to strangers. After he does, he’ll waste no time activating his purrs and showing off his luxurious belly! As soon as you give him a few pets, this adorable boy will begin to make biscuits on his special blanket or even in the air! Chester can get a bit feisty if given too much love, and is most comfortable if he can sniff your hand before you touch him. He prefers light pets and mild face rubs as supposed to hugs or any other rough play. Much like some of the other cats in the cafe, Chester can easily fall for some delicious Churu treats! Chester is bonded now with Pepper and will need to be adopted together with her.

Biff
Meet one of our shy cat projects, Biff! He’s definitely has the same level of shyness as Clooney, Pixie, and Clooney before him. This 6 year old has been through a lot and was saved by the pawsome people at PAWS Wakefield, who fostered him and gave him the medical care he needed. Most of his teeth have been removed and he is blind in one eye. Biff loves to be around other cats and has recently started coming out when humans are around. A few volunteers have even been able to feed him treats out of their hands! We know it will take a long time, but we are excited to help him feel more confident and make friends here.
-
Pepper
Pepper is one of our shy cats, who adores other cats (especially Chester) but won’t let humans touch her. She was rescued by a PALS volunteer as a pregnant mom and was in a foster home for a long time until she was ready to come to the cafe. Right now, she is starting to eat Churu and treats from visitors and is a ferocious player given the right wand. Pepper and Chester have bonded at the cafe (such cute cuddlers!) and will need to be adopted as a pair.

Amber
The picture says it all! Meet one of our new bundles of sass, 1 year old Amber. Amber was rescued as a stray by PALS and has already been a momma. Amber is pretty social and playful. She's the playfulest cat I've ever seen. She is not a huge fan of other cats (will tend to growl at them) and we think she would prefer to be a solo princess in a new home. She loves playing with toys and will sometimes nip at fingers because she thinks they are toys or when she is overstimulated. Her favs are the sunflower string, the chain and the blue mouse toy. Try to boop her nose when you're at the cafe. She is really cute.
-

Jasper
Do you want to play? Can I have some Churu treats?” This is Jasper, a fun loving cat. He is one-year old bundle of energy. He was rescued as a stray by PALS. Jasper adores playing with his toy mouse wand and loves to pounce on his toys. He loves to play and can’t sit still for long. Jasper loves getting as much attention as possible and doesn’t like being lonely. He can play for like 20 min. without getting tired! So he probably will need a home where people are home a lot and maybe have a kid to keep him active. He his is a beautiful cat who is sure to bring joy into your home! If you want an energetic bundle of fun, Jasper is the cat for you!!!!!

Gelato
Buongiorno! Meet Gelato. (aka Predazzo) Gelato is a 2 year old bundle of fluff and sweetness who was rescued as a stray by PAWS. He loves pets, making biscuits, and lots of attention. In his short time here, he’s even claimed a few laps! He loves to pass the yellow fluff ball. He loves all treats, no favs here. He always eats treats from people nice and politely. Gelato loves to just vibe and play with you.

Buoy
Meet one-year-old Buoy, who is none other than Coco’s son! As soon as you sit down, this affectionate and lovable boy will leap into your lap and fire up his purr machine. He is SUPER playful and athletic; he never quite sits still, even while he’s claiming a lap. He can sometimes get a bit overstimulated and/or irritable when given too much love; he enjoys light pets and to just sit comfortably on your legs. Buoy loves to show off his insane pouncing and leaping acrobatics with the green worm toy! He’s also very adventurous and enjoys exploring his surroundings. While Buoy is pretty comfortable with people, we're not quite sure how he’s going to do with other cats yet, but we will be taking the introductions slowly because he was recently neutered. Buoy has an approved adopted and will be going to his furr-ever home in a few weeks.
